March 12 - A Perfect Day
A PERFECT DAY
We awoke to cool temperatures (59F), but it warmed up steadily to about 77 ... and the sky was cloudless. The perfect beach day! Keith and I went back to Black Rock for a surf, and the waves were better than the previous day -- still a good size, but not quite as turbulent without as much wind. Susan and Di had walked down to Shelly, so we walked down to join them. Eventually we wandered back home for lunch, then had a kip (nap). Read a while, then later in the afternoon I decided to walk the crest again down to Beilby and to take some photos. As it turned out, that was a good decision since the lighting was very good, as you'll see below. Di grilled lamb (don't tell Mary or Bo Peep!) for dinner, and we had a lovely, easy evening on the deck just eating, drinking wine, and talking about a variety of things that we too seldom don't have a chance to do together. It was a cool, serene, starlit night. With the sounds of CSNY in the background, I found an app on my phone for finding the Southern Cross (which, as you may know, is the Southern Hemisphere's answer to the Big Dipper), so we did. Since Nambucca is a small town, and Keith and Di live near a national forest, the stars were quite bright. Hard to beat this day.
